In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind La Scaloneta's goalkeeper Albano Bemabe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 4 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albano Bemabe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Despite this Albano Bemabe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Ecuador booed when La Scaloneta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Taurino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Agustín Saelices made a precise shot to the right of Albano Bemabe. La Scaloneta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Albano Bemabe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute. After 33 minutes, Cristian Sancho made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. La Scaloneta's Albano Bemabe tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albano Bemabe having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Albano Bemabe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. La Scaloneta's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Cristian Sancho 51 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-5. With a little luck, La Scaloneta's Albano Bemabe got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valentin Taurino thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Albano Bemabe, a very annoying self made goal in the 55th minute which led to 0-6. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 62nd minute Apolo Aurken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. La Scaloneta made a substitution. Justo Aguirre replaced Segundo Birila. Albano Bemabe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 66th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Cristian Sancho could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Albano Bemabe however easily saved by the left post. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 74th minute. Rigoberto Cuarto tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Albano Bemabe. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-7 in the 74th minute. Albano Bemabe was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 81 minute of play. After 83 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albano Bemabe was left in no man's land by his defense there! 87 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta's goalkeeper Albano Bemabe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita.
