After a rather tough play, FÊNIX F.C.'s Giovani Palmeira got a free kick in the 4th minute. Tomás de Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarell Hill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Finlay Stair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Tomás de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, FÊNIX F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Finlay Stair came free, but Tomás de Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jamaica's Finlay Stair got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romon Oliver hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, FÊNIX F.C.'s Armando Saldanha ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Demonde Jacobson. Demonde Jacobson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jamaica's goalkeeper Demonde Jacobson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Finlay Stair came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Jamaica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Finlay Stair couldn't finish the play. Demonde Jacobson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldir Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Adriano Loyola struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Demonde Jacobson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FÊNIX F.C.. Demonde Jacobson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldir Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute, Waldir Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Giovani Palmeira hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Jamaica's Karlus Waugh managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alfredinho Maciel in the 47 minute of the game.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Armando Saldanha was the one to do the kick off. If Armando Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 54 minutes into the match, Jamaica's Karlus Waugh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomás de Lara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Adriano Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the FÊNIX F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Loyola couldn't finish the play. FÊNIX F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adriano Loyola in the 59th minute. A nice corner shot did that Adriano Loyola got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Demonde Jacobson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 60 played minutes FÊNIX F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Fernando Lima. Romon Oliver charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romon Oliver the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute, Romon Oliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Demonde Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Saldanha in the 67th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Armando Saldanha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Demonde Jacobson. Jamaica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Saldanha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Finlay Stair hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Romon Oliver was shown his second yellow card after 75 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 78 minutes into the game, Wayan Freeman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jamaica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FÊNIX F.C. the free kick. After 78 played minutes Jamaica got a freekick which was hit by Wayan Freeman. 80 minutes into the game, FÊNIX F.C.'s Waldir Brito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Demonde Jacobson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 87th minute Waldir Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demonde Jacobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FÊNIX F.C.'s Waldir Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
