In the 14th minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Juarês Melo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Juarês Melos short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juarês Melo went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 24th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Melo in the 26th minute of play. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Messejana SportClub - DMZ's Juarês Melo got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Per-Olof Sikström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juarês Melo struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Messejana SportClub - DMZ. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juarês Melo in the 52nd minute of play. After 58 minutes, Alex Chicote mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Messejana SportClub - DMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Uster in the 72nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Messejana SportClub - DMZ's Per-Olof Sikström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 76th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Teodoro Uster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Messejana SportClub - DMZ's Mário Veiga got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, Mário Veiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. 89 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Uster came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodoro Uster in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. The Messejana SportClub - DMZ fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when Messejana SportClub - DMZ's Teodoro Uster looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. There was no doubt that Messejana SportClub - DMZ were the better team. Messejana SportClub - DMZ's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
