If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita scored 0-3 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arturo Sengrat, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play forced Rivermania FC's goalkeeper Arturo Sengrat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dionisio Abascal in the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Sengrat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arturo Sengrat came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. 35 minutes into the match, Rivermania FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Arturo Sengrat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. At last the ball reached Antonio Arias at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Rivermania FC. 0-4. Arturo Sengrat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute of the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Anselmo Osasun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rivermania FC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rivermania FC's Anselmo Osasun got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th match minute, Rivermania FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by German Teofilio to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Sengrat was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 0-5. Rivermania FC's Arturo Sengrat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Rivermania FC from getting a goal against them. 63 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Arturo Sengrat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Arturo Sengrat to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Sengrat having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Rivermania FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Sengrat came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arturo Sengrat didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rivermania FC! Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Sengrat having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Rivermania FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicanor Dimas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Salbatore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Sengrat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
