Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, October 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal Correia to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, October 04's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Eskil Vester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Emilio Cascajares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The October 04 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Eskil Vester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilio Cascajares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Cascajares came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Emilio Cascajares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Cascajares in the 44th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eskil Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emilio Cascajares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eskil Vester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 53 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eskil Vester narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eskil Vester made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Emilio Cascajares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Emilio Cascajares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 66th minute of play forced October 04's goalkeeper Eskil Vester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. October 04's Eskil Vester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save October 04 from getting a goal against them. Waldemar de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fellipe Valle in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 85 minutes into the match, October 04's Fellipe Valle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 86 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Claudinei Custódio who took care of the corner kick. Claudinei Custódio made a great header on October 04's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fellipe Valle in the 92nd minute of the match. Fellipe Valle scored 3-1 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
