When Hector Covarrubias came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hector Covarrubias couldn't finish the play. Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geraldo Aparecido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Pardo scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geraldo Aparecido, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 76th minute, when Jaime Pardo scored to the left of an out of position Geraldo Aparecido, making the score, 0-4. Carlos Fernando Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pégasus F. C.'s Geraldo Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 87th minute of play. Jaime Pardo scored 0-5 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geraldo Aparecido, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The throw-in from Ivan Prats in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Pégasus F. C.'s Sílvio Urbano. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias got a free kick in the 95th minute.
