The audience was convinced that Finlay Stair's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leandro Cardozo was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kordal Duff in the 14th minute of play forced Que se abra o mar's goalkeeper Leandro Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Que se abra o mar's Leandro Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarell Hill in the 18th minute of play. Demonde Jacobson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Serra in the 25th minute of play forced Jamaica's goalkeeper Demonde Jacobson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Ronaldo Serra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Demonde Jacobson. Ronaldo Serra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Leandro Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romon Oliver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute Ronaldo Serra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demonde Jacobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 played minutes Que se abra o mar got a freekick which was hit by Luís Paulo Queiroz. Que se abra o mar's Leandro Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Finlay Stair in the 36th minute of play. A collision led to Jamaica getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Karlus Waugh hit a great ball. Jamaica's Finlay Stair got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute Gino Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demonde Jacobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Finlay Stair in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leandro Cardozo saved Que se abra o mar from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronaldo Serra made a kick off. Demonde Jacobson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Fantini, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Carlos Baptista in the 57th minute of play. If Romon Oliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Claudinei Silveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Demonde Jacobson was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. When Finlay Stair came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Jamaica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Finlay Stair couldn't finish the play. Romon Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Cardozo having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Que se abra o mar's goalkeeper Leandro Cardozo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Finlay Stair. João Carlos Baptista hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, Jamaica's Finlay Stair nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leandro Cardozo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 75th minute, Claudinei Silveira made a precise shot to the right of Demonde Jacobson. Jamaica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 82nd minute, Claudinei Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Demonde Jacobson was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ronaldo Serra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Que se abra o mar's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Serra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Demonde Jacobson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinei Silveira in the 96th minute of play forced Jamaica's goalkeeper Demonde Jacobson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Jamaica getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Romon Oliver hit a great ball. Jamaica's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
