Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Reese Otto sent off a good shot on target. 7 minutes into the match, Zamalek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Rhys Dimmock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Indiano's late challenge caught a Zamalek FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Indiano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Pedro Indiano hit a great ball. Sergey Krasinskiy kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After 22 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Indiano. After recieving a nice pass, Zamalek FC's Zack Grier tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Reese Otto came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Lane in the 31st minute of play. Mariano Lacasa struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Rhys Dimmock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reese Otto in the 39th minute of play. Chile were furious when Gerardo Pozo was red carded, 41 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Chile:s Thiago Pliego showed great skill when he stopped Tytus Banaszak:s penalty. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

With an all-out effort, Chile's Rhys Dimmock threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Orlando Casaus, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reese Otto in the 55th minute of the match. A collision led to Zamalek FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Filip Stăniloaie hit a great ball. Reese Otto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zamalek FC's Daron Joseph was substituted for Leonardo Lane. If Daron Joseph had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Casaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Orlando Casaus fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chile's protests and gave Orlando Casaus a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Zamalek FC booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Casaus didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 83 minutes of play, Zamalek FC's Daron Joseph made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fred Kirkpatrick's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Zamalek FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zack Grier in the 89th minute. Zamalek FC's Zack Grier was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thiago Pliego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daron Joseph in the 94th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Fred Kirkpatrick notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Zamalek FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chile had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
