Reinaldo Merlo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Garaona Alfeiran. Deportivo ScrugenFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 9th minute Ignacio Scocco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garaona Alfeiran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Deportivo ScrugenFC booed when River CBBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Abar didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Tobias Abarca came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the River CBBA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tobias Abarca couldn't finish the play. Garaona Alfeiran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Scocco in the 29th minute of the match. Garaona Alfeiran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Ruben, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. But to his dismay, Prospero Arevalo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0.

Many of River CBBA's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. River CBBA may have spent more time on the ball, but Deportivo ScrugenFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
