Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Fatih Özbay scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 1-0. Luca Rouco hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, 蚂蚁在路上's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Alonso Suloaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the 蚂蚁在路上 defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alonso Suloaga. The 蚂蚁在路上 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alonso Suloaga should have stopped the shot. Alonso Suloaga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alonso Suloaga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Fatih Özbay tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alonso Suloaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 36th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Luca Rouco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Alonso Suloaga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 57th minute of the match. The supporters of Mexico booed when 蚂蚁在路上 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. 曲震适 didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92ndth minute of the game 姜风亦 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 蚂蚁在路上 were awarded a corner in the 94th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sergio De Pablo took the corner. The corner ended in Sergio De Pablo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa did a great save. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
