In the 9th minute, Ediz Tekdoğan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 11 minutes into the match, KOCAELİSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Pan Jian Yong came free, but Şemsettin Tuyuğ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taribo Ndukwe in the 13th minute of the match. The supporters of KOCAELİSPOR booed when Lions United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Eleazar didn't get a good kick on the ball. KOCAELİSPOR's Şemsettin Tuyuğ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pan Jian Yong in the 20th minute of play. Steve De Wilde was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Mbaka Mbolu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mbaka Mbolu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Mbaka Mbolu took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Steve De Wilde to make any attempt to save it. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Solari in the 28th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Refugio Pagan got free with Steve De Wilde in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute Pan Jian Yong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şemsettin Tuyuğ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Lions United's goal looked a bit too open when Ye Chuan Chen came free, but Steve De Wilde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafli Leonard, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Pan Jian Yong made the kick off in the second half. Steve De Wilde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Refugio Pagan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. KOCAELİSPOR's Şemsettin Tuyuğ proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save KOCAELİSPOR from getting a goal against them.
