When Godfredo Gau came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Defensores de Lombroso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godfredo Gau couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norbert Chwalkiewicz in the 53rd minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Denis Paulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Ubaldo Gelacio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Lionel-Andrés Messi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wawrzyniec Charamut made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uriel Ferrer in the 70th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godfredo Gau got free with Wawrzyniec Charamut in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Defensores de Lombroso's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Godfredo Gau in the 74th minute. Defensores de Lombroso's Uriel Ferrer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wawrzyniec Charamut in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, De Boedo Vengo's Wawrzyniec Charamut got control of the ball when Lionel-Andrés Messi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Denis Paulin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Gheară, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute.
