Ertan Duman started the match with the kick off. A nice corner shot did that Ray Atkins got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Haji Sarap quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 13 minutes into the match, ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanildo Luis came free, but Gottfrid Hedström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldinho Gaucho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gottfrid Hedström having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ertan Duman to maneuver through the defense. If Ertan Duman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Haji Sarap proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Joinville City - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Joinville City - FSCMZ's zone, Ertan Duman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haji Sarap came out of the goal and Ertan Duman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ's Ertan Duman fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head.

In the 52nd minute Geovanildo Luis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gottfrid Hedström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haji Sarap stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ertan Duman's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Gottfrid Hedström was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Ronaldinho Gaucho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ronaldinho Gaucho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ's Besim Vecdet was substituted for Ertan Duman. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Geovanildo Luis got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Adhemar Santos was substituted for Geovanildo Luis. ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ made a substitution. Cao Jun Yan replaced Fotis Theofilopoulos. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Luo Peng Ao was substituted for Ronaldinho Gaucho. Joinville City - FSCMZ made a substitution. Horácio Abraão replaced Bernardino Llorenc. In the 70th minute, Besim Vecdet made a precise shot to the right of Haji Sarap. Joinville City - FSCMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After some careless play in the Joinville City - FSCMZ defense, Ray Atkins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haji Sarap. The Joinville City - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haji Sarap should have stopped the shot. Gottfrid Hedström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adhemar Santos in the 81st minute of the match. 83 minutes into the game, Adhemar Santos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gottfrid Hedström. Adhemar Santos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. Horácio Abraão received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gottfrid Hedström came out and tried to block the shot, but Horácio Abraão slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 87th minute. In the 90th minute of the match, Adhemar Santos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gottfrid Hedström saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomás Reis was slow to take the kick. During this time Joinville City - FSCMZ's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horácio Abraão got free with Gottfrid Hedström in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The score was 3-3 after 90 minutes, which forced the match into extra-time.

106 minutes into the match, Horácio Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gottfrid Hedström. ΑΙΕΝ ΥΨΙΚΡΑΤΕΙΝ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horácio Abraão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Joinville City - FSCMZ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
