The supporters of MZKS Sharks Gdynia booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Cambeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute Gao Gang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radomil Bielatowicz in the 18th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislav Satinský saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radomil Bielatowicz in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute of the match MZKS Sharks Gdynia got a corner. Panama's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. In the 31stth minute of the game Tomas Berganza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MZKS Sharks Gdynia's Stanislav Satinský was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stanislav Satinský. MZKS Sharks Gdynia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Berganza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Panama's Felipe Ros got a free kick in the 38th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stanislav Satinský saved MZKS Sharks Gdynia from getting behind. Miguel Miralles hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Niek Wander ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Berganza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Radomil Bielatowicz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 58th minute, Tomas Berganza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In a very dangerous position, a player in Panama fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute of the match Szymon Motyl sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla skillfully saved the ball. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Remigiusz Cempa fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MZKS Sharks Gdynia's protests and gave Remigiusz Cempa a yellow card for diving instead. If Miguel Miralles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 100th minute of play forced MZKS Sharks Gdynia's goalkeeper Stanislav Satinský to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
