After some careless play in the CA Brasileiros Juniors defense, Julio Baptista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Fernando Amaral. The CA Brasileiros Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Fernando Amaral should have stopped the shot. The supporters of CA Brasileiros Juniors booed when JEC - FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiaguinho Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Tiaguinho Lira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JEC - FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CA Brasileiros Juniors the free kick. Tiaguinho Lira hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Carlos Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glenn Ottaway, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Correia in the 32nd minute of play forced JEC - FC's goalkeeper Carlos Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. JEC - FC were furious when Lech Spychalski was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 43rd minute, one of JEC - FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for JEC - FC. Carlos Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nico Mendonça in the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julio Baptista made a kick off. A collision led to JEC - FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Pero Šiljak hit a great ball. Luís Fernando Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julio Baptista in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Fernando Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Carlos Ramos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Luís Fernando Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. JEC - FC were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after CA Brasileiros Juniors's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Liu Xiang Zhen took the corner. Tarcisio Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute Julio Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fernando Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute of the match, Glenn Ottaway got a very nice opportunity to score, but Carlos Ramos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Carlos Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nico Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CA Brasileiros Juniors made a substitution. Fellipe Loyola replaced Erik Correia. CA Brasileiros Juniors's Abel Koehler was substituted for Thijs Wijgaert. Luís Fernando Amaral had in the 82ndth minute some difficulties stopping Julio Baptista's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. CA Brasileiros Juniors's Luís Fernando Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Baptista in the 84th minute of play. Carlos Ramos made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Leite in the 88th minute. Julio Baptista might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fernando Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julio Baptista ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, CA Brasileiros Juniors's Valdo Paes got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 94th minute, Valdo Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
