After a rather tough play, Cöpacabana FC's Harald Boman got a free kick in the 7th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Talha İstanbul came free, but Fynn John reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Vito Leite's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fynn John was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. In the 18th minute Vito Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fynn John saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Atlético Mineiro defense, Stig-Åke Benet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fynn John. Fynn John stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vito Leite's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Vito Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fynn John saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fynn John showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig-Åke Benet in the 39th minute of the match. Fynn John made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Talha İstanbul in the 41st minute of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Vito Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cöpacabana FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vito Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 46 minutes into the game, Vito Leite cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Fynn John was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cöpacabana FC made a substitution. Dobromir Brudnicki replaced Stig-Åke Benet. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vito Leite stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Harald Boman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Fynn John tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Vito Leite's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fynn John was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Fynn John made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Talha İstanbul sent off a good shot on target. Tomé Brasil kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match.
