SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandrinho Hoffmann in the 30th minute of play. Sandrinho Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Dinei Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Guilherme Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Benjamim Dante managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when SeleSantos FC's Niilo Mikkola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. SeleSantos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Niilo Mikkola in the 36th minute. With a little luck, Estrela Solitária's Benjamim Dante got control of the ball when Leif Törnqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute Sandrinho Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when Estrela Solitária was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu Meira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niilo Mikkola in the 43rd minute of play forced Estrela Solitária's goalkeeper Benjamim Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Sandrinho Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Niilo Mikkola to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes SeleSantos FC got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Trevisan. Dudu Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Dinei Pinheiro made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Dudu Meira sent off a good shot on target. Sandrinho Hoffmann kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 58thth minute. Though ot was a great shot SeleSantos FC's keeper Dinei Pinheiro was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Benjamim Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niilo Mikkola, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After a rather tough play, SeleSantos FC's Norberto Trevisan got a free kick in the 87th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Túlio Maravilha in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinei Pinheiro saved SeleSantos FC from getting behind. After 91 played minutes SeleSantos FC got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Trevisan. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Túlio Maravilha sped through SeleSantos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dinei Pinheiro. The Estrela Solitária supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Estrela Solitária would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
