SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Ortiz in the 3rd minute of play. A collision led to SeleSantos FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. João Pedro Ortiz hit a great ball. Jânio Lira came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dinei Pinheiro could save by the left post. In the 15th minute of the match Torreão OFF got a corner. SeleSantos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jânio Lira ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of SeleSantos FC's goalie and right to Eduardo Prado. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. SeleSantos FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 17th minute, Norberto Trevisan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dinei Pinheiro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jânio Lira. Dinei Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Ortiz in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio Lira came free, but Dinei Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zézinho Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niilo Mikkola in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Torreão OFF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Niilo Mikkola was slow to take the kick. During this time SeleSantos FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led SeleSantos FC's Niilo Mikkola to fire away a dangerous shot which Zézinho Freitas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 26 played minutes SeleSantos FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacobo Casado. When Torreão OFF's Jânio Lira in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SeleSantos FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 33rd minute, Jânio Lira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dinei Pinheiro. The goal made the score 1-0. After a rather tough play, SeleSantos FC's Leif Törnqvist got a free kick in the 35th minute. With a little luck, SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro got control of the ball when Jânio Lira tried to sneak it across the goal line. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Ortiz in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Torreão OFF made a substitution. Luís Guilherme de Andrade replaced Jânio Lira. With an all-out effort, SeleSantos FC's Zézinho Freitas threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Niilo Mikkola, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Zézinho Freitas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leif Törnqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ezequiel Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Dinei Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dinei Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute Ezequiel Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute of the match Torreão OFF got a corner. SeleSantos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Romário Soeiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Torreão OFF's Romário Soeiro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dinei Pinheiro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 69th play minutes Ezequiel Ortiz shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Dinei Pinheiro and just under the crossbar into goal. Zézinho Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niilo Mikkola in the 76th minute of the match.
