The supporters of Messejana SportClub - DMZ booed when Real Madrid FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fellipe Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Real Madrid FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Joaquim Diniz hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Real Madrid FC defense, Mário Veiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Artemio Ikatz. The Real Madrid FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Artemio Ikatz should have stopped the shot. Joaquim Diniz hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Erik Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Messejana SportClub - DMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artemio Ikatz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 27 minutes Real Madrid FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Erik Silveira who took care of the corner kick. 28 minutes into the match, Real Madrid FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Veiga came free, but Artemio Ikatz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mário Veiga took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artemio Ikatz. Artemio Ikatz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 32 minutes into the match, Messejana SportClub - DMZ's goalkeeper Per-Olof Sikström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gonçalo do Valle. In the 34th minute, İlhami Tor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39thth minute of the game Alan de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Messejana SportClub - DMZ's Per-Olof Sikström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mário Veiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Artemio Ikatz having to make a save. Artemio Ikatz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Messejana SportClub - DMZ were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Per-Olof Sikström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wolfram Mattheis in the 51st minute of play. After 54 played minutes Real Madrid FC got a freekick which was hit by Alan de Andrade. 57 minutes into the match, Mário Veiga notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Real Madrid FC's Artemio Ikatz. Artemio Ikatz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Veiga in the 61st minute of play forced Real Madrid FC's goalkeeper Artemio Ikatz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mário Veiga got free with Artemio Ikatz in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Messejana SportClub - DMZ made a substitution. Edmílson Braga replaced José Paulo Seco. In the 82ndth minute of the game Mário Veiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Madrid FC's Artemio Ikatz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Real Madrid FC's Artemio Ikatz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Real Madrid FC from getting a goal against them. When Mário Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Messejana SportClub - DMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mário Veiga couldn't finish the play. Messejana SportClub - DMZ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
