Itajaí's João Augusto Custódio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save E.C. Itajaí from getting a goal against them. Wilfried Spaniol had several of the E.C. Itajaí's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 18 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed João Augusto Custódio as he didn't even see the shot coming. 23 minutes into the game, Wilfried Spaniol recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of João Augusto Custódio. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilfried Spaniol in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Augusto Custódio saved E.C. Itajaí from getting behind. In the 39thth minute of the game Wilfried Spaniol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C. Itajaí's João Augusto Custódio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wilfried Spaniol took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Augusto Custódio. João Augusto Custódio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After having played for 43 minutes, Wilfried Spaniol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galo na Veia FC™'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfried Spaniol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Augusto Custódio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfried Spaniol, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilfried Spaniol made a kick off. João Augusto Custódio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joélson Tasso in the 55th minute of play. E.C. Itajaí's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galo na Veia FC™ the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfried Spaniol in the 63rd minute of play forced E.C. Itajaí's goalkeeper João Augusto Custódio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joélson Tasso couldn't finish the play.
