João Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Militros F.C.'s goalkeeper Gerd Pollmann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Gilmar Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vascogoianiense FC! Pedrinho Vasco hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Gerd Pollmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilmar Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerd Pollmann having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandrinho Cunha. Gerd Pollmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aírton Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matheus Neto hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Sandrinho Cunha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nelsinho Leite. Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gilmar Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Militros F.C.'s Wanderson Valencia was substituted for Paulão Freire. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilmar Monteiro to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Wanderson Valencia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 60 played minutes Vascogoianiense FC got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Sousa. After 68 minutes of play, Militros F.C.'s Sandrinho Cunha made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nelsinho Leite was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vascogoianiense FC made a substitution. Válbson Pontes replaced Edmílson Fernandez. Gilmar Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Gerd Pollmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wanderson Valencia in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelsinho Leite prevented the ball from getting in the gole. But to his dismay, Aírton Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 91st minute Wanderson Valencia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerd Pollmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by 康渊霆 in the 93rd minute. Nelsinho Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wanderson Valencia, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. 95 minutes in the game, Gilmar Monteiro fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gerd Pollmann having to interfere. In the 98th minute Wanderson Valencia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Vascogoianiense FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
