Bruninho Vaz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Marquez's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Daniel Marquez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Bruninho Vaz made a huge save. Vila Nova GO's Celsinho Capixaba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alf Elg in the 18th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Vila Nova GO's goal looked a bit too open when Alf Elg came free, but Celsinho Capixaba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Flavio Troiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Bruninho Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, SC Bertioga's goalkeeper Bruninho Vaz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Marquez. Betinho Meireles hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Bertioga's zone, Luís Guilherme Guedes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruninho Vaz came out of the goal and Luís Guilherme Guedes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Bertioga's Bruninho Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu Branco in the 29th minute of play. After 31 minutes SC Bertioga's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cafu Branco who took care of the corner kick. Cristian Favoretto was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Anderson Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Celsinho Capixaba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 58 played minutes Vila Nova GO got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Marquez. Celsinho Capixaba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alf Elg, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The audience was convinced that Daniel Marquez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruninho Vaz was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. With an all-out effort, SC Bertioga's Celsinho Capixaba threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Flavio Troiano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Betinho Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After 75 played minutes SC Bertioga got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Pombal. In the 76th match minute, SC Bertioga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anderson Pombal to maneuver through the defense. Bruninho Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor Souto in the 80th minute of play. Flavio Troiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celsinho Capixaba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vila Nova GO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Serafim Queiroz was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Bertioga's players had a chance to rest. Flavio Troiano made a great header on SC Bertioga's corner, it was just that Vila Nova GO's Celsinho Capixaba managed to reach the ball for a save. Flavio Troiano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celsinho Capixaba having to make a save. Flavio Troiano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Celsinho Capixaba made a huge save. The supporters of Vila Nova GO booed when SC Bertioga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Troiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
