With a left leg Martino Pozuelos saved S.C. Internacional RS from getting behind. Martino Pozuelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor Souto in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brasil Brasil was the one to do the kick off. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 51st minute of the game. One of Vila Nova GO:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S.C. Internacional RS:s goal. Daniel Marquezs short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Martino Pozuelos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. S.C. Internacional RS's Gláuber Alagoano was substituted for Bernard Edwards. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by S.C. Internacional RS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cafu Branco was slow to take the kick. During this time Vila Nova GO's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Vila Nova GO's corner Chiquinho Simão fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Martino Pozuelos quite easily take care of the ball. After 90 minutes, Süruri Ülgen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.C. Internacional RS and the Vila Nova GO players grew even worse after the yellow card. Internacional RS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vila Nova GO's performance. The match ended with a win for Vila Nova GO.
