Internacional RS's Sidnei Peixoto. Sidnei Peixoto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sidnei Peixoto made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when João Vítor Souto sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute of the match Vila Nova GO got a corner. S.C. Internacional RS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cafu Branco ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Marquez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Sidnei Peixoto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Vila Nova GO fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Vila Nova GO's João Vítor Souto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rafael Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Sidnei Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Daniel Marquez put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sidnei Peixoto. In the 28th minute, Horácio Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 31 minutes, Daniel Marquez made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. S.C. Internacional RS's Sidnei Peixoto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Vila Nova GO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Umberto Dantas to make the kick off. A collision led to S.C. Internacional RS getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Jerônimo Trigo hit a great ball. 52 minutes into the game, Cafu Branco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Sidnei Peixoto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Daniel Marquez put it in 9-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sidnei Peixoto. Sidnei Peixoto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Marquez's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Sidnei Peixoto came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Vila Nova GO's Luís Guilherme Guedes. But to his dismay, Luís Guilherme Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 12-0. After 86 played minutes Vila Nova GO got a freekick which was hit by João Vítor Souto. The supporters of S.C. Internacional RS booed when Vila Nova GO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cafu Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. The supporters of S.C.
