In the 3rd minute Brasil Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to S.C. Internacional RS getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Narciso Negri hit a great ball. Vivaldo Carmona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Martino Pozuelos made a huge save. Jeremias Lendaa took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rubinho de Amaral. Rubinho de Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rubinho de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinei Gøl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dinei Gøl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute, Vivaldo Carmona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real Cruzeiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Dinei Gøl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho de Amaral having to interfere. Vivaldo Carmona's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Martino Pozuelos firmly grabbed it by the left post. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by S.C. Internacional RS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Baltazar Zonta was slow to take the kick. During this time Real Cruzeiro FC's players had a chance to rest. Martino Pozuelos made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Vivaldo Carmona sent off a good shot on target. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vivaldo Carmona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vivaldo Carmona in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martino Pozuelos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. S.C. Internacional RS's Martino Pozuelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vivaldo Carmona in the 55th minute of play. André Luiz Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dinei Gøl in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubinho de Amaral saved Real Cruzeiro FC from getting behind. When Real Cruzeiro FC's Vivaldo Carmona in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye S.C. Internacional RS's goalie prevented a goal. Zézinho Sanches hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Dinei Gøl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho de Amaral having to interfere. Dinei Gøl was extremely unlucky when he, in the 76th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 77th minute, Narciso Negri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vivaldo Carmona took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martino Pozuelos. Martino Pozuelos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Martino Pozuelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldo Nazário De Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dinei Gøl in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubinho de Amaral saved Real Cruzeiro FC from getting behind. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martino Pozuelos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 92nd minute, S.C. Internacional RS's Narciso Negri ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rubinho de Amaral. Rubinho de Amaral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. S.C. Internacional RS were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Real Cruzeiro FC to leave the ground with a draw.
