In the 14th minute Marcel Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Freire didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivory Gunn went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 20th minute of the match, Alex Sági tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Enrique Freire saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Alex Sági might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrique Freire. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alex Sági ran back to his position shaking his head. 41 minutes into the match, Futebol Dos Parça's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Sági came free, but Enrique Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Dario Alegría got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After having played for 43 minutes, Herbert Lindholm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Futebol Dos Parça's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herbert Lindholm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Walmyr Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dario Alegría to strike the kick off in the second half. Alex Sági's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrique Freire read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan Senna got free with Jailson Teles in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jailson Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Futebol Dos Parça's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dario Alegría was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Lindholm in the 77th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Jailson Teles successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Futebol Dos Parça were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after AVAÍ F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adrianinho Eger took the corner. Marcel Abraão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Jailson Teles made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in AVAÍ F.C.'s zone, Marcel Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jailson Teles came out of the goal and Marcel Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claus Van De Wiele hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Dario Alegría scored 5-0 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enrique Freire, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. AVAÍ F.C. had won after a very even match.
