Miau Stars's Marco Veremundo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gilmar Garcia in the 16 minute of the game. Aírton de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldo Fenomeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aírton de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Fenomeno, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Miau Stars's attentive Vidar Jespersson managed to snatch the ball when Gilmar Garcia made a throw-in in the 27th minute of the game. Motta Futebol Clube's Gilmar Garcia quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vidar Jespersson, made in the 31st minute of the game. Motta Futebol Clube's Aírton de Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Fenomeno in the 37th minute of play. After 38 played minutes Motta Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Freddie Vennerberg. Ronaldo Fenomeno might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aírton de Lima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronaldo Fenomeno ran back to his position shaking his head. Abdulkadir Eraslan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson de Alcântara in the 57th minute of play. After 58 minutes, Gilmar Garcia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Motta Futebol Clube and the Miau Stars players grew even worse after the yellow card.
