AA GUARULHOS's Jacobo Porfirio quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Paulão Favoretto, made in the 17th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the match, Motta Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Remigio Finlay came free, but Aírton de Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Motta Futebol Clube booed when AA GUARULHOS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remigio Finlay in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aírton de Lima saved Motta Futebol Clube from getting behind. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. When Motta Futebol Clube's Válbson de Alcântara in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. AA GUARULHOS were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
