Knut Västerberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Pena having to interfere. If Jerônimo Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Knut Västerberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C Águias de Ouro's supporters rose to their feet, but Knut Västerberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanni Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of F.C Águias de Ouro booed when Júbilo Iwata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro de Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yıldırım Orguntay scored 1-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giovanni Pena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zé Roberto Velasco took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mehmet Edip Nazmi. Mehmet Edip Nazmi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 30 minutes into the match, F.C Águias de Ouro's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Xabier came free, but Mehmet Edip Nazmi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match Júbilo Iwata got a corner. F.C Águias de Ouro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sandro de Barros ran over to the corner to take the kick. Turkka Jatkola hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Sílvio Luís Bittencourt hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Yıldırım Orguntay kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. Mehmet Edip Nazmi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Xabier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerônimo Mangueira was the one to do the kick off. Zé Roberto Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Júbilo Iwata's Dedé de Castro was substituted for Zé Roberto Velasco. After 57 played minutes Júbilo Iwata got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Velasco. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Knut Västerberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C Águias de Ouro's supporters rose to their feet, but Knut Västerberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanni Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mehmet Edip Nazmi came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Júbilo Iwata's Jerônimo Mangueira. But to his dismay, Jerônimo Mangueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Ivan Xabier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute, Yıldırım Orguntay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Knut Västerberg kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Jerônimo Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Júbilo Iwata's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerônimo Mangueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mehmet Edip Nazmi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 82 minutes in the game, Knut Västerberg dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. When Knut Västerberg fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C Águias de Ouro's protests and gave Knut Västerberg a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th minute, Knut Västerberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júbilo Iwata's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
