With an all-out effort, 20 de Abril's Antonio Quintun threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Valdo Toscano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 6th minute of the match 20 de Abril got a corner. Real Knit United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Álvaro de Mendonça ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 8th match minute, 20 de Abril was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luan Zanette to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Agnaldo Souto notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of 20 de Abril's Mané Netto. Mané Netto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Doriva Recife hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute 20 de Abril were awarded a corner. Álvaro de Mendonça went to the cornerflag to take it. Mané Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Souto in the 33rd minute of play. Mané Netto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Vítor da Mata's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Sílvio Luís da Mata hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. João Vítor da Mata's late challenge caught a 20 de Abril's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Vítor da Mata helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st minute, João Vítor da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Agnaldo Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antonio Quintun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdo Toscano in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Agnaldo Souto made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, 20 de Abril was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luís da Mata to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Bastos in the 55th minute of play forced 20 de Abril's goalkeeper Mané Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 de Abril made a substitution. Baltazar Mazza replaced Álvaro de Mendonça. 20 de Abril's Robinho Freire was substituted for Valdo Toscano. In the 61st minute, Serafim Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robinho Freire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Antonio Quintun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robinho Freire in the 65th minute of play. Agnaldo Souto's shot from long distance in the 69th minute was not bad at all, but 20 de Abril's Mané Netto knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Váldson Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Quintun having to interfere. Real Knit United's Dida Gerber was substituted for Doriva Recife. Real Knit United's Fábio Sergipano was substituted for Moisés Gaspar. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Robinho Freire sped through Real Knit United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Antonio Quintun. 20 de Abril walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
