A collision led to Squadra Demarchi getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Ernesto Pereira hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Genílson Mandrak in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oscar Saldanha saved Squadra Demarchi from getting behind. If João Adolfo Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Barbosa in the 23rd minute of play. Oscar Saldanha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Caco Barbosa's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute.
