Baturhan Oytun started the match with the kick off. Baturhan Oytun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alfonso Taraborrelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mete Gøl in the 5th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Guga Trancoso got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Baturhan Oytun managed to get in a good position for a shot. PIAUÍ FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Baturhan Oytun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfonso Taraborrelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baturhan Oytun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Taraborrelli having to interfere. Baturhan Oytun kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to BOTAFOGO getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Kauan Melo hit a great ball. Alfonso Taraborrelli made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Baturhan Oytun sent off a good shot on target. Baturhan Oytun in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alfonso Taraborrelli, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Baturhan Oytun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Alfonso Taraborrelli made a huge save. A collision led to PIAUÍ FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Alfredão Prestes hit a great ball. Iurie Chiriacescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Madureira in the 34th minute of play. Baturhan Oytun's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Alfonso Taraborrelli skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 38th minute Toninho Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iurie Chiriacescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PIAUÍ FC's Iurie Chiriacescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaanek Oese in the 41st minute of play. With a little luck, BOTAFOGO's Alfonso Taraborrelli got control of the ball when Baturhan Oytun tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 51st minute Baturhan Oytun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Taraborrelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Toninho Madureira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Iurie Chiriacescu firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Édouard Deloge in the 56th minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfonso Taraborrelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baturhan Oytun in the 58th minute of the match. BOTAFOGO's Alfonso Taraborrelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baturhan Oytun in the 66th minute of play. The PIAUÍ FC fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when PIAUÍ FC's Baturhan Oytun looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. PIAUÍ FC's Vladimir de Sena was substituted for Mete Gøl. PIAUÍ FC's Fernandinho Mesquita was substituted for Demis Katsarolidis. Juninho Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Taraborrelli having to interfere. Alfonso Taraborrelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The corner led PIAUÍ FC's Renato Sá to fire away a dangerous shot which Alfonso Taraborrelli despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alfonso Taraborrelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guga Trancoso in the 84th minute of play forced BOTAFOGO's goalkeeper Alfonso Taraborrelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind BOTAFOGO's goalkeeper Alfonso Taraborrelli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Iurie Chiriacescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaanek Oese in the 87th minute of play. PIAUÍ FC's Juninho Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. PIAUÍ FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of BOTAFOGO for a fine match.
