Flamengo's Léo Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Casemiro in the 3rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Silvério Botelho got a free kick in the 7th minute. Fábio Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léo Lopes having to interfere. Fábio Coelho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Léo Lopes having to make a save. Fábio Coelho might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Léo Lopes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fábio Coelho ran back to his position shaking his head. Fábio Coelho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Léo Lopes made a huge save. In the 26th minute Carlos Casemiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fábio Coelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Casemiro struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Léo Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. Água Santa. Flamengo's Léo Lopes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Flamengo from getting a goal against them. Água Santa's Carlos Casemiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Silvério Botelho made in the 47th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Glauco Hoffmann. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Casemiro in the 53rd minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper Léo Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 53 minutes of play, E.C. Água Santa's Carlos Casemiro made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Léo Lopes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carlos Casemiro scored 5-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Léo Lopes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. E.C. Água Santa made a substitution. Gualterio Gilabert replaced Fábio Coelho. After some careless play in the Flamengo defense, Gualterio Gilabert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Léo Lopes. The Flamengo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Léo Lopes should have stopped the shot. 65 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Casemiro came free, but Léo Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gualterio Gilabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualterio Gilabert in the 68th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper Léo Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Reginaldo Gomes got a free kick in the 70th minute. The throw-in from Juvenal Guerra in the 73rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by E.C. Água Santa's Lenílson Bittencourt. Gualterio Gilabert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Léo Lopes having to make a save. In the 77th minute Gualterio Gilabert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute, Valdomiro Rosado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Léo Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualterio Gilabert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glauco Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Fernandez Gøl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fernandez Gøl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pedro Lago in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by E.C. Água Santa's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Laerte Salgado was slow to take the kick. During this time Flamengo's players had a chance to rest. In the 92nd minute, Gualterio Gilabert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The E.C. Água Santa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. E.C. Água Santa walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
