Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Örjan Björkdahl in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aden Couzens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A sloppy throw-in by Yuri Marquez in the 43rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's João Arruda. After 44 played minutes PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by João Arruda. A throw-in in the 46th minute of the game was made by Yuri Marquez with Augusto Paranaense as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 47 minutes of play, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Örjan Björkdahl made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aden Couzens was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rickard Ödman made a kick off. Örjan Björkdahl's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aden Couzens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
