In the 9th minute, Sydney Rosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anísio Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 15th minute, Marcos de Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Catone booed when C.R. Vallongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilian Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to C.R. After 26 minutes of play, Catone's Sydney Rosa made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luiz Fabiano Cruz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luiz Fabiano Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilian Gonçalves in the 29th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Anísio Matorin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Almir de Mendonça. That made the score 1-2 in the 30 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Catone's zone, Wilton de Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almir de Mendonça came out of the goal and Wilton de Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When C.R. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Wilian Gonçalves hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Luiz Fabiano Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Catone's Almir de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Matorin in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute Wilton de Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almir de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Edmílson Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catone's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmílson Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fabiano Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 62nd minute, Edmílson Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, C.R. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Luiz Fabiano Cruz. The C.R. Vallongo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Catone were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
