The corner went over the outstretched arms of Diamond Crown FC's goalie and right to Alex Arantes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Diamond Crown FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 14 minutes into the game, Costin Verzea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Luiz Fernando Peixoto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luiz Fernando Peixoto made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Artem Ustinov sent off a good shot on target. 18 minutes into the match, Bezerros EC's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Peixoto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Feliberto Tarin. 19 minutes in the game, Claudinho do Vale dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Bernardo Aguayo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinho do Vale's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute Clóvis Camargo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Aguayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costin Verzea received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luiz Fernando Peixoto came out and tried to block the shot, but Costin Verzea slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. Almir Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costin Verzea in the 28th minute of play forced Bezerros EC's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Costin Verzea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 29th minute Costin Verzea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Bezerros EC's goal looked a bit too open when Costin Verzea came free, but Luiz Fernando Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Bezerros EC's Almir Freitas got a free kick in the 37th minute. Luiz Fernando Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costin Verzea, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 51st minute, one of Bezerros EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bezerros EC. Jerônimo Correia kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Almir Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Luiz Fernando Peixoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliberto Tarin in the 59th minute of the match. Luiz Fernando Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costin Verzea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bezerros EC's Luiz Fernando Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costin Verzea in the 70th minute of play. Luiz Fernando Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costin Verzea in the 73rd minute of play. In the 76th minute, David Sheringham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bezerros EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gernando Cardozo was slow to take the kick. During this time Diamond Crown FC's players had a chance to rest. Donato Ceresso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Bernardo Aguayo made a huge save. Bernardo Aguayo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Arantes in the 93rd minute. With a little luck, Diamond Crown FC's Bernardo Aguayo got control of the ball when Alex Arantes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Many of Bezerros EC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose.
