EC Fragata's Dalmo Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fábio Machado in the 8th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Luís Lara took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Leopoldo Cerezo to make any attempt to save it. In the 12th minute Naldo Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the EC Fragata defense, Naldo Marquez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dalmo Freire. The EC Fragata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dalmo Freire should have stopped the shot. Dalmo Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naldo Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Meneses in the 19th minute of play forced EC Fragata's goalkeeper Dalmo Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. EC Fragata were furious when Adrianinho Alvarenga was red carded, 21 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in EC Fragata fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! 29 minutes into the game, 100 Chance's Filipe Meneses nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dalmo Freire made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. 32 minutes into the match, EC Fragata's goal looked a bit too open when Filipe Meneses came free, but Dalmo Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. EC Fragata's Luís Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dalmo Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Meneses in the 38th minute of play. In the 44th minute Naldo Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute Arnaldo Teixeira suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. The supporters of 100 Chance booed when EC Fragata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, EC Fragata's Sydney Quirino got a free kick in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filipe Meneses in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalmo Freire prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cipriano Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Dalmo Freire didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 55th minute, which inside left pole to 2-4. If Sydney Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in 100 Chance's zone, Thomás Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Cerezo came out of the goal and Thomás Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of 100 Chance booed when EC Fragata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Prado didn't get a good kick on the ball.
