In a very dangerous position, a player in Fireball Esporte Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Sailor FC. João Varela stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ilie Grecescu. 0-1. Sailor FC's Emil Kornecki got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sailor FC's Serafim de Queiroz got a free kick in the 8th minute. Mike Mura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik de Mendonça in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Umberto Godoi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mike Mura, 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Fireball Esporte Clube's Erik de Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mike Mura. That made the score 2-1 after 20 minutes of play. The Fireball Esporte Clube fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Fireball Esporte Clube's Gilberto Pereira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A hard shot 32 in the game by Erik de Mendonça from a close distance when the talented Mike Mura managed to make a qualified save. Sailor FC's players were relieved. When Mariano Berenguer came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Sailor FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Berenguer couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

Reinaldo Prestes's late challenge caught a Fireball Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reinaldo Prestes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Fireball Esporte Clube booed when Sailor FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reinaldo Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik de Mendonça in the 60th minute of play forced Sailor FC's goalkeeper Mike Mura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fireball Esporte Clube were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Sailor FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Naldo Schmidt took the corner. Gil Magalhães took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mike Mura. Mike Mura dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. After 66 played minutes Sailor FC got a freekick which was hit by Mané Bittencourt. After some careless play in the Sailor FC defense, Gilberto Pereira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mike Mura. The Sailor FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mike Mura should have stopped the shot. Mike Mura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik de Mendonça in the 71st minute of the match. In the 78th minute Erik de Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Mura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emil Kornecki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilberto Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike Mura having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Pereira in the 84th minute of play forced Sailor FC's goalkeeper Mike Mura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilberto Pereira in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mike Mura prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ilie Grecescu was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Mariano Berenguer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mariano Berenguer really showed his touch with that goal: 6-2. Mike Mura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik de Mendonça in the 95th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Fireball Esporte Clube had played much better football throughout.
