After a defensive mix-up in Chuteira Santa F.C's zone, Jan Bykowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovânio Vander came out of the goal and Jan Bykowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 4th minute, Joseba Roa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 6 minutes into the game, Jan Bykowski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Geovânio Vander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Geovânio Vander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matouš Carda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jan Bykowski came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the AFC - Curitiba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Bykowski couldn't finish the play. If Matouš Carda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14thth minute of the game Jan Bykowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chuteira Santa F.C's Geovânio Vander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 17th match minute, Chuteira Santa F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Furtado to maneuver through the defense. Matouš Carda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Vander having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Chuteira Santa F.C's Valdemar Cardozo got a free kick in the 19th minute. Geovânio Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Bykowski in the 24th minute of the match. With 26 minutes on the clock, Kléberson Fonseca commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 26 minutes into the game, one of Chuteira Santa F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Geovânio Vander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matouš Carda, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Geovânio Vander didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jan Bykowski went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 45th minute of the match Hermínio Alvarenga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geovânio Vander showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Geovânio Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matouš Carda in the 47th minute of play. After the first half AFC - Curitiba were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
AFC - Curitiba's Romário Ortiz was substituted for Zhang Yin Si. The supporters of AFC - Curitiba booed when Chuteira Santa F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 53 minutes into the match, AFC - Curitiba's Silvio Asier broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 55 minutes into the match, Chuteira Santa F.C's goalkeeper Geovânio Vander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan Bykowski. After some careless play in the Chuteira Santa F.C defense, Jan Bykowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geovânio Vander. The Chuteira Santa F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geovânio Vander should have stopped the shot. AFC - Curitiba's Jan Bykowski got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jan Bykowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 71 minutes into the match, Chuteira Santa F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Bykowski came free, but Geovânio Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matouš Carda struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Geovânio Vander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC - Curitiba. Silvio Asier kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After 80 minutes, Valdemar Cardozo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chuteira Santa F.C and the AFC - Curitiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chuteira Santa F.C's Valdemar Cardozo got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute of the match Silvio Asier shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geovânio Vander showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 83 played minutes Chuteira Santa F.C got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Romero. Jan Bykowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute, AFC - Curitiba's Matouš Carda ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Geovânio Vander. Geovânio Vander yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. In the 89th minute, Jan Bykowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute Ismael Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AFC - Curitiba's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
