The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Laranjense's Milosz Juszkowski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fran Guerola. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. Palmiro Gueifão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Battal Gazi Bey in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Laranjense's Márcio Rossi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After a rather tough play, Laranjense's Lorenzo Fréchou got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 16th minute of the match Thomas Kielland shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Palmiro Gueifão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Palmiro Gueifão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Battal Gazi Bey, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 21stth minute of the game Jailson Barral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Laranjense's Palmiro Gueifão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Alfredinho Cabral recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fran Guerola. Alfredinho Cabral showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. After 38 minutes, Alfredinho Cabral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laranjense and the S O B E R A N O CIMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

After 53 played minutes Laranjense got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Rossi. Palmiro Gueifão made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Battal Gazi Bey sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Leon Peio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laranjense's supporters rose to their feet, but Leon Peio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fran Guerola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 64 minutes into the match, S O B E R A N O CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Milosz Juszkowski came free, but Fran Guerola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dito Guedes in the 67th minute of play forced Laranjense's goalkeeper Palmiro Gueifão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S O B E R A N O CIMZ's Fran Guerola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milosz Juszkowski in the 73rd minute of play. After 91 minutes S O B E R A N O CIMZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alfredinho Cabral who took care of the corner kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eliézer de Queirós in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Palmiro Gueifão saved Laranjense from getting behind.
