The Blumenau Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Fábio Leite should have stopped the shot. Bin Shevchenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. IGUIPORÃ FC's Carlos Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bin Shevchenko in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute Gustavo Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fábio Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Augusto Couto charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Augusto Couto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 29 played minutes Blumenau Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by José Augusto Couto. A throw-in in the 35th minute of the game was made by Danél Iriart with Gabby Batistuta as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 40th minute of the match, Bin Shevchenko tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Carlos Carioca saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 42nd minute, Lucas-Ignacio Lugano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 43 minutes, Danél Iriart managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IGUIPORÃ FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danél Iriart was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 minutes IGUIPORÃ FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nildo Dantas who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Blumenau Esporte Clube's corner Xandinho Sharkin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Carlos Carioca quite easily take care of the ball. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by IGUIPORÃ FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nildo Dantas was slow to take the kick. During this time Blumenau Esporte Clube's players had a chance to rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bin Shevchenko made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bin Shevchenko in the 52nd minute of play forced IGUIPORÃ FC's goalkeeper Carlos Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fábio Leite made an important save on a dangerous shot by He Shi Yu in the 53rd minute. José Augusto Couto hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. İlkan Lefter kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Danél Iriart's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Fábio Leite read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Gustavo Sergipano sped through Blumenau Esporte Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Fábio Leite. In the 64th minute, Bin Shevchenko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute, Gustavo Sergipano made a precise shot to the right of Luiz Fábio Leite. Blumenau Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. IGUIPORÃ FC's Eric Hjortsberg was substituted for Gustavo Sergipano. In the 72nd minute of the match IGUIPORÃ FC got a corner. Blumenau Esporte Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Danél Iriart ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of IGUIPORÃ FC booed when Blumenau Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Luiz Paulo Chaves could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Luiz Fábio Leite however easily saved by the left post. Carlos Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bin Shevchenko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Luiz Paulo Chaves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Fábio Leite was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Bin Shevchenko struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Carlos Carioca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blumenau Esporte Clube. In the 91st minute of the game Danél Iriart made a throw-in which Gabby Batistuta played forward. Donato Mazza's late challenge caught a IGUIPORÃ FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donato Mazza helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd minute, Donato Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. İlkan Lefter kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. If João Adolfo Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. IGUIPORÃ FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
