In the 10th minute, José Paulo Prata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Décio Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Décio Messias in the 14th minute of play forced Figueirense - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Evandro Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17thth minute of the game Décio Messias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Figueirense - FSCMZ's Evandro Dracena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Paulo Prata in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. If Oscar Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Faustão Valladares during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chico Ceresso was the one to do the kick off. Evandro Dracena made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Décio Messias sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Décio Messias in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evandro Dracena saved Figueirense - FSCMZ from getting behind. In the 87th minute Décio Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evandro Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evandro Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Décio Messias in the 87th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Décio Messias got free with Evandro Dracena in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Décio Messias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Evandro Dracena made a huge save. Sipo EC played a much better game than Figueirense - FSCMZ and deserved their victory. The Figueirense - FSCMZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
