The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sipo EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. MINEIROS's Ricardo Custódio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Carroll Hathaway in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 12th minute Bon Čáp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carroll Hathaway saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thommy Jadis was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Yan Netto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Yan Netto really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. A throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game was made by Silvano Mohamed with Oséias Gerber as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 26th minute, Bon Čáp made a precise shot to the right of Carroll Hathaway. Sipo EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 29th minute, Bon Čáp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MINEIROS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Américo Marinho made in the 32nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Oséias Gerber however managed to control. The crowd rose to their feet as Yan Netto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thommy Jadis. That made the score 2-2 in the 35 minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bon Čáp was the one to do the kick off. Carroll Hathaway was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bon Čáp showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 51 minute of play. Sipo EC's Carroll Hathaway played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Paredes in the 54th minute of play. Carlos Alberto Passos hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. MINEIROS's supporters rose to their feet, but Bon Čáp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carroll Hathaway breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 66 played minutes MINEIROS got a freekick which was hit by Smail Larbi. MINEIROS's Mário Maradona was substituted for Bon Čáp. After a rather tough play, MINEIROS's Smail Larbi got a free kick in the 67th minute. Thommy Jadis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséias Gerber in the 71st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Rodolfo Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sipo EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thommy Jadis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carroll Hathaway made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Mário Maradona sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes into the match, Mário Maradona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carroll Hathaway. Sipo EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mário Maradona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-5. MINEIROS were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Sipo EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Humberto Severo took the corner. After taking down the ball on MINEIROS's corner Teodoro Heidemann fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Carroll Hathaway quite easily take care of the ball. Thommy Jadis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvano Mohamed, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Sipo EC's Carlos Alberto Passos got a free kick in the 94th minute.
