Figueirense - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Betão de Amaral managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Figueirense - FSCMZ's Caco Souza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nilmar do Valle's late challenge caught a Figueirense - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilmar do Valle helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to S.E. Cachoeirinha getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Nilmar do Valle hit a great ball. Dorival Veloso got his second yellow card in the match during the 41st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Figueirense - FSCMZ booed when S.E. Cachoeirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Lousada in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Betão de Amaral saved S.E. Cachoeirinha from getting behind. When Zé Recife fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E. Cachoeirinha's protests and gave Zé Recife a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to S.E. Cachoeirinha getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Zé Recife hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Caco Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Figueirense - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Caco Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Betão de Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caco Souza in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Betão de Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Betão de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the S.E. Cachoeirinha defense, Caco Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Betão de Amaral. The S.E. Cachoeirinha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Betão de Amaral should have stopped the shot. The supporters of S.E. Cachoeirinha booed when Figueirense - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Eduardo Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Frederico Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Figueirense - FSCMZ had played much better football throughout.
