In the 11th minute Kaká Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arí Silva got free with Dida Trigo in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, America FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kaká Garcia came free, but Gildo Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valente FC were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after America FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kaká Garcia took the corner. Jonas Dracena might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dida Trigo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonas Dracena ran back to his position shaking his head. Dida Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Gildo Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Garcia in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Guerrero in the 22nd minute of play forced America FC's goalkeeper Gildo Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, America FC's goal looked a bit too open when Madaleno Baltanas came free, but Gildo Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gildo Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Madaleno Baltanas in the 24th minute of play. Yuri Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paolo Guerrero in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gildo Furtado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. America FC's Gildo Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Garcia in the 33rd minute of play. Gildo Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Garcia in the 34th minute of the match. Gildo Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Garcia in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the America FC defense, Paolo Guerrero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gildo Furtado. The America FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gildo Furtado should have stopped the shot. If Cipriano Higuera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When America FC's Maicon Arruda, in the 44th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for America FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arí Silva during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to America FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Arí Silva hit a great ball. Paolo Guerrero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maicon Arruda to strike the kick off in the second half. Dida Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maicon Arruda in the 50th minute of play. After 54 played minutes America FC got a freekick which was hit by Maicon Arruda. A hard shot 55 in the game by Paolo Guerrero from a close distance when the talented Gildo Furtado managed to make a qualified save. America FC's players were relieved. In the 58th minute Kaká Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Lopez in the 60th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Kaká Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gildo Furtado was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. The referee felt a red card was in order, 91 minutes into the game, when Maurinho de Godoi put in a rough tackle. Maurinho de Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. It was beautiful to see America FC's Dagoberto de Lima in action when he in the 93rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance!
