After 17 minutes, Simão de Toledo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester United FC and the Jabaquara SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. It was beautiful to see Jabaquara SC's Can Dogo in action when he in the 18th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 21st match minute, Jabaquara SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fábio Arce to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim De Jonghe in the 22nd minute of play forced Jabaquara SC's goalkeeper Niyazi Derim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manfred Rudqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Manfred Rudqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Niyazi Derim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Rudqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manfred Rudqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niyazi Derim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Manchester United FC's Manfred Rudqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bruno Martini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulão Diniz in the 67th minute of the match. Joachim De Jonghe's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Niyazi Derim firmly grabbed it by the left post.
