Gabi Gol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gustavo Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabi Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. A collision led to Ponta da Praia FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Umberto Negri hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. The Ponta da Praia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustavo Vides should have stopped the shot. If Gabi Gol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gustavo Vides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabi Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Domingues in the 86th minute of play forced Ponta da Praia FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. América-SC F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Elder Domingues in the 87th minute. After a rather tough play, América-SC F.C.'s Walmyr de Alcântara got a free kick in the 87th minute. Gustavo Vides made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erasmo dos Santos in the 89th minute.
