With a little luck, FERRARI's Cesar Godet got control of the ball when Elder Domingues tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute of the game Haroldo de Barros made a throw-in which Jorge Azevedo played forward. After a rather tough play, América-SC F.C.'s Elder Domingues got a free kick in the 18th minute. FERRARI's Cesar Godet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabi Gol in the 28th minute of play. Nestor Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Netto, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Cesar Godet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabi Gol in the 33rd minute of play. Nestor Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Eduardo Netto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elder Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Cesar Godet made a huge save. 40 minutes into the game, Erasmo dos Santos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cesar Godet was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 43rd minute Luiz Eduardo Netto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elder Domingues made a great header on América-SC F.C.'s corner, it was just that FERRARI's Cesar Godet managed to reach the ball for a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some careless play in the FERRARI defense, Gabi Gol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cesar Godet. The FERRARI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cesar Godet should have stopped the shot. Vasco Olarticoechea hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the match, FERRARI's goal looked a bit too open when Gabi Gol came free, but Cesar Godet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Ibañez in the 60th minute of play. Erasmo dos Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. América-SC F.C. made a substitution. Luís Henrique replaced Gabi Gol. After a rather tough play, América-SC F.C.'s Téo Cordeiro got a free kick in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, América-SC F.C.'s goalkeeper Nestor Quirino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Ibañez. Carlos Alberto de Carvalho lost his temper 78 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 77th minute of the game. One of FERRARI:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of América-SC F.C.:s goal. Cesar Godet had in the 80thth minute some difficulties stopping Elder Domingues's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Cesar Godet came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by América-SC F.C.'s Luís Henrique. But to his dismay, Luís Henrique quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 86 minutes into the game, América-SC F.C.'s Luís Henrique nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesar Godet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. If Luiz Eduardo Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. América-SC F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
