The audience thought a goal was coming when Pau Doku got free with Gustavo Vides in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 7th match minute, Pragmáticos 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Fenomeno to maneuver through the defense. Gustavo Vides stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pau Doku's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. A collision led to Pragmáticos 1903 getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Tales da Rocha hit a great ball. 20 minutes into the match, Pragmáticos 1903's goal looked a bit too open when Manoel Zanette came free, but Amava Pintos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 39 minutes, Pau Doku managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pragmáticos 1903's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pau Doku was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amava Pintos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermínio Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. With a little luck, Ponta da Praia FC's Gustavo Vides got control of the ball when Pau Doku tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
Gustavo Vides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Eduardo Alves in the 52nd minute of the match.
