Nilton Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Passos in the 15th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Adalberto Passos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Phoenix Fc's Nilton Sabóia. Nilton Sabóia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Erasmo Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldo Barral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Armando Peres showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 25 minute of play. Erasmo Ramos scored 1-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nilton Sabóia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Phoenix Fc's Tiago Gabriel Loureiro couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for CORINTHIANS. CORINTHIANS's Erasmo Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 44 played minutes CORINTHIANS got a freekick which was hit by Artur Bueno. In the 46th minute, Vitório Ferraz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Phoenix Fc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilson Veiga to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Vitório Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to CORINTHIANS getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Caio Paiva hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the match, Vitório Ferraz notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of CORINTHIANS's Ronaldo Barral. Ronaldo Barral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Erasmo Ramos took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nilton Sabóia. Nilton Sabóia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Serafim Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Phoenix Fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Serafim Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldo Barral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. CORINTHIANS made a substitution. Osmar Neiva replaced Adalberto Passos. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hílton Baptista during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of CORINTHIANS booed when Phoenix Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hílton Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, CORINTHIANS's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Peres came free, but Ronaldo Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur Bueno in the 85th minute of play forced Phoenix Fc's goalkeeper Nilton Sabóia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedrão Berger hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Rui Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 92nd match minute, CORINTHIANS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osmar Neiva to maneuver through the defense. After 93 played minutes Phoenix Fc got a freekick which was hit by Emerson de Lara. CORINTHIANS were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Phoenix Fc's much stronger midfield.
